2 years ago... Then we had the official opening of Glaravans
It all started relatively innocently, with the idea of fixing up a caravan and then possibly renting it out... but it eventually degenerated into a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. I still remember Loes's (my wife) face when I told her I had quit my job. It wasn't entirely unexpected, but it was suddenly official...
And we've been through some tense moments since then; we almost even quit the business. But they say that it is in the deepest recesses that the most beautiful things emerge, and that is how it turned out. We are growing bit by bit, but it never happens by itself. Although I am often the face in the foreground, it is the silent forces that often do it. The countless hours we put into the business each week are also possible thanks to the unconditional support.
For example, our Glaravans shine beautifully thanks to my brother Rob, who manages to take photos of them in a beautiful way every time. But he also helped me out during the months when I was still working with deadlines.
Also the interns who have been part of the team for some time now, work hard every day to get the best out of the company. Amir is happily building the caravans a few days a week, Aron helped out with our new website and there is a big chance that you will get Silke on the phone these days to experience the best customer service in the world ;). Our extra super power on Friday, Nick, also provides a nice ending to the week.
But also my mother who every week just waters the plants, takes a cloth through the company and helps in high need at the caravans! My family (in law) always helps out when needed, but most of all Loes, who gives me all the space, creates and helps to create my, and by now also her dream. How cliché it may be, it's really true, without her this would never have succeeded.
But we also almost forget the most important thing: the faith and trust of all customers that I've been able to provide with their own dream palace! Believe me, not everything is and was always easy, but I think they are all still satisfied and fans!
I hope you have enjoyed our creations so far and I hope we can show you many more beautiful palaces!
