Glaravans are modern caravans with a vintage look; old caravans that have been modernized to last for many years. Glaravans are already based on reuse and we have taken that one step further with the latest Glaravans. The goal of this Glaravan was to design a completely sustainable and circular caravan without sacrificing ease of use & quality.
The basis of this caravan is a Yvonne Mostard caravan from 1972 that has been completely rebuilt with modern techniques, as we do with all Glaravans. The difference is in the details and structure; this consists of sustainable and circular materials to burden the environment as little as possible. The construction method, the reuse of materials and the modernization make this caravan a serious alternative to a completely newly produced caravan. An additional advantage is that the caravan weighs less than 750kg and can therefore easily be towed by an electric car.
In 2021 we launched the Circular caravan project at the Camping and Caravan Fair in Utrecht. Many ideas and designs later, the project gained momentum in 2023 through a customer; he was enthusiastic about the project and wanted to think along and work on the concept. In collaboration with the customer, we personalized the caravan and brought together as many sustainable and circular solutions as possible to create what is now Glaravan #17.
The caravan will now be tested in the coming camping seasons & all feasible technologies will soon be adopted as standard in the new Glaravans to be built for an even more sustainable and greener future.
