Part 1 - Buying the Right Caravan

Contents of the Basic Course on Caravan Renovation

01

What types of caravans there are, how they are built, and what the best project caravans are.

We discuss the most common models from the 60s to now. This way, you can weigh what does and doesn't suit you well and quickly see the pros and cons of each type of caravan.

02

We will teach you in detail how to tell if you are buying a good caravan or not, and what possible costs may be involved.

Save yourself unexpected costs; you can assess after the trip whether your potential travel palace still has hidden defects.

03

We teach you what you can repair yourself and how to do it with the right materials.

Repairing a caravan has never been so easy; sometimes things are easier than they seem.

04

We give you insight into selecting the right caravan for your own plans.

Plans that match your own knowledge and skills, so you can better estimate in advance how much time, money, and craftsmanship is involved.

Part 2 - The technical restoration of your caravan

Contents of the Basic Course on Caravan Renovation

01

Don't get too enthusiastic about stripping; what should you keep and what not?

Still thrown away the wrong part or removed something too much without being able to foresee the consequences.

02

How far do you go and how do you determine that?

Success is partly determined by your own knowledge and skills; we help you determine how far you can go and what the potential consequences are.

03

What can you repair yourself and how do you do this?

We have developed 4 levels where you can work within your own level. We explain the basics of caravan techniques using 10 different scale models. These scale models help us practically explain different construction methods.

04

What are the costs of materials or outsourcing the restoration?

We provide you with insight into material costs, time, and the skill set you need.

05

Basis of electrical, gas, and water technology.

You will understand a bit more about the wires, how gas can be safe, and how to get a fresh stream of water from your tap.

Part 3 - Creating Your Own Travel Palace

Contents of the Basic Course on Caravan Renovation

01

How do we do that at Glaravans and how do you approach it yourself?

You will learn how we work and think and how you can translate this to your own project.

02

A plan of action from A to Z that covers all the details.

What makes sense to do first and what last? This way you avoid double work and it saves a lot of effort. We understand that your project may take time, but sometimes it can also be too disappointing if you don't think it through properly in advance.

03

From 'pimping' to making your own furniture; we explain how to proceed and what to pay attention to.

You determine your own level; on the course day itself, we will see what you need and based on that, we can delve deeper into topics. From advice on making furniture to advice on colors, anything is possible!

04

What you absolutely should not do; learn from the mistakes we have made over the years and save yourself a lot of money and effort.

From simple mistakes to disastrous problems that have sometimes made things quite difficult for us.
