Circular
A better and greener world
The world, the environment, and sustainability are important topics today. We all strive for a greener and better world for ourselves and our children. At Glaravans, we are also engaged with this topic and have applied various aspects in the construction of our caravans. We have also developed a prototype caravan where sustainability and circularity were central themes.
Circular caravan project
Essentially, Glaravans are already based on reuse, and we have taken this a step further with Glaravan #17. The goal of Glaravan #17 was to design a fully sustainable and circular caravan without compromising on usability & quality.
The foundation of this caravan is a Yvonne Mostard from 1972 that has been completely rebuilt using modern techniques, as we do with all Glaravans. The difference lies in the details and construction; it consists of sustainable and circular materials to minimize environmental impact.
Due to the construction method, the reuse of materials, and the modernization, this caravan is a serious alternative to a completely newly produced caravan. An additional advantage is that the caravan weighs under 750kg, making it easy to tow with an electric car.

Circular? Sustainable?
What does it mean exactly? All the components that we reuse are called circular; we use them again and they can possibly be used again after this caravan. Circular materials could also partly consist of reused materials such as textiles. Sustainable stands for materials that have a low impact on the environment and are therefore 'sustainable'.
Founded for & by customers
In 2021, we launched the Circular Caravan project at the Camping and Caravan Fair in Utrecht. Many ideas and designs later, the project gained momentum in 2023 thanks to a customer; they were enthusiastic about the project and wanted to think along and work on the concept. In collaboration with the customer, we personalized the caravan and brought together as many sustainable and circular solutions as possible into what is now Glaravan #17.

Photo location
The photography location for this Glaravan is not without reason; The photos were taken at Cleaning Twente. They have been active as a tank cleaning company for over 30 years. By enabling the reuse of various types of storage tanks, the method of cleaning these tanks, and purifying their wastewater, the company is extremely environmentally conscious. A perfect match with our circular caravan and therefore this collaboration.
